Tuition & Scheduling
Tuition
A regular flat monthly rate takes the guesswork out of tuition payments. A “month” will include either 4 or 5 lessons determined by the calendar, but the same average fee will be charged each month. Think of this as “budget billing” for music lessons. Discounts are available for families enrolling more than one student with me, as well as students booking hour-long lessons.
helpful reminders
Tuition is always due by the first week of each month.
Lessons that fall on a holiday will not be billed (New Year’s Eve/Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day).
Note: There are no lessons July - First week of August. Enjoy your summer break!
(Due to my touring schedule, summer break is subject to possible extension).
Scheduling
-
In the event of instructor cancellations, a video lesson or make-up slot will be provided. (If neither of those options are appropriate for your student, a credit will be applied to the following month).
-
Once a lesson time is agreed upon, that time is set aside by the teacher and the school for that student each week. The student is therefore responsible for paying for that time slot each week even if they are unable to attend the lesson. Teachers are not obligated to provide credits or make-ups for missed lessons.
Student cancelations that cannot be made up (or canceled within 24 hrs) are non-refundable.
If I can accommodate a make-up during a time at which I am already at the school, I am happy to do so. If you are not able to schedule a make-up during one of those times, you are still responsible to pay for your lesson slot.
-
If you need to discontinue lessons for any reason or take a break of longer than two weeks, please give your instructor 30 days notice of your cancellation.
This gives us a chance to plan for changes, and make your slot available to other students.
If 30 days notice is not given, you may be charged for the following month’s full tuition.
The instructor reserves the right to terminate lessons for any reasonable reason, including late or missing payments, underpayment (includes online payment fees such as those charged by PayPal) or issues related to maintaining a safe, pleasant, productive and nurturing environment.
Thank you!
Thank you for taking the time to review these terms and reminders. I have been performing and teaching music for over 20 years and I am grateful to have grown my passion into a full-time career. These policies help avoid inconsistencies in the monthly income on which my family and I depend. I don’t stop being a teacher when your student leaves the room. Please know that I am there for them throughout all stages of their journey. It is your continued support that allows me to offer enhanced learning opportunities during and beyond our lesson time.
